British Values

What makes us British? You could ask a hundred Britons and get a hundred different answers... Luckily though, the Department for Education has a handy list: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. The DfE encourages KS2 teachers to promote British values in school. They do so in order to help young children tell right from wrong, further their understanding of British society and to encourage them to be respectful of each other.

Could you do with a hand teaching British values to your KS2 children? Then take a look below. We've put our heads together and come up with a whole collection of ready-made resources that explain to KS2 children what makes a value 'British', as well as how and why Britons live by them. Whether you need something for an assembly, morning starter or PSHE lesson, we've got something to help.
