Retrieval practice is an evidence-based strategy that, if used effectively with KS2 pupils, is scientifically proven to dramatically improve learning. Retrieval practice can be taught through lots of different activities including the use of quick quizzes; asking pupils to ‘speak like an expert’; using working memory challenge grids; using flashcards; analysing and connecting images; using quick knowledge quizzes in different formats or applying retrieval practice within bingo games. Use our worksheets, activities, games and PPTs suitable for Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students to try to interrupt the forgetting process.
