Forming part of the 'development matters' section of the Early Years Foundation Stage document, Early Years outcomes are what practitioners observe to make sure that the child in question is performing up to the standards that are required. They are used at 2 stages of a child's life: once when they are 2, and once when they are at the end of reception.
